LUGB Vortex Flowmeter is based on the Kalman Vortex Street Principle. It is mainly manifested in the setting of non-streamlined Vortex Generator (blocking fluid) in the flowing fluid, which alternately generates two rows of regular vortices from both sides of the Vortex Generator. It is widely used in the measurement and control of superheated steam, saturated steam, compressed air and general gases, water and liquids in petroleum, chemical, metallurgical, thermal, textile and paper industries. Vortex flowmeter in long-term stable operation may also have faults during its operation. The reasons for such faults are as follows:
Damage of impurities in media
After a long period of work, the adhesion and deposition of dirt in the fluid on the inner wall of the measuring tube, the surface of the generating body and the inner wall of the instrument converter, the surface of the generating body and the surface of the detecting element have changed the geometric parameters of the measuring tube and the generating body. The measurement error of the instrument has increased, the sensitivity of the detecting element has been reduced, and the signal amplitude has been reduced, thus causing the failure of the detecting element.
II. Failure of Side Checking Components and Electronic Components
After a long period of operation, some electronic components may reach life and fail, resulting in instrument failure.
3. Environmental reasons
The long-term erosion of corrosive gases and moisture in the environment will cause the insulation resistance of the detection elements to decrease, and the corrosion of some electronic components, connection terminals and grounding terminals, which will increase the contact resistance of the connectors and attenuate the transmission signal.
4. Lightning damage
Damage of field instruments caused by lightning strike in thunderstorm season is a common fault. Lightning strikes can induce instantaneous high voltage spikes and strong surge currents in transmission lines, break down or burn down electronic components in the converter. This kind of lightning strikes are mainly introduced through power and signal lines.
